Be Present and Share His Love

Date

In the Christian faith tradition, social service is a tangible manifestation of God’s love for others and not just a moral obligation. Jesus Christ set an example of service to the weak and marginalized. Every interaction with the children reminded me of my calling as a believer and CB sister who is driven by unconditional love. Jesus taught us to serve the needy with humility, as written in Matthew 25:40.

At Komunitas Belajar Realino (a learning community initiated by Realino Societal Service in Yogyakarta), I face challenges, especially with children who are ‘attention hungry’ due to lack of education or attention from parents. Although exhausting and emotionally draining, these challenges become opportunities to learn patience, open-heartedness, and understanding. God is present in the fragility of these children, teaching the meaning of unconditional service.

Presence and companionship for children is essential, and every interaction becomes an encounter with God. Social service is communion with Him, calling me to share love in a world in need. I realized that my duty as a believer is to serve and give myself to learn from those who are served. This experience became a path to personal and spiritual transformation, binding me to God’s mission of love for the world.
